This week, the 2025 CU Futures cohort gathered at Arbuthnot Latham’s head office in London for a packed two-day programme of learning, development, and networking.
Launched in 2016, CU Futures has seen 91 graduates from credit unions across England, Scotland, and Wales complete the programme. This year’s cohort took part in their fourth module of High-Performance Culture training delivered by The Pacific Institute, followed by a comprehensive session on presentation and media skills led by Liz Barclay, former Chair of the Credit Union Foundation.
A key feature of CU Futures is the requirement for participants to present proposals at the ABCUL Annual Conference that tackle pressing sector challenges and opportunities. Liz’s training session was an important chance for participants to collaborate in their groups and refine their ideas ahead of the conference.
The event was hosted by Arbuthnot Latham & Co, who welcomed participants to their new London offices. The two-day programme included a networking Mix & Mingle reception with Arbuthnot Latham’s Young Professionals group and concluded with a meeting with the Arbuthnot Latham executive team.
Jake Hatch, Programme Manager for CU Futures, said: “CU Futures continues to go from strength to strength, and this year’s cohort are proving themselves to be an inspiring group of emerging leaders. Arbuthnot Latham’s generous hospitality gave participants a brilliant opportunity to connect with professionals outside the credit union sector, develop key skills, and build confidence ahead of their conference presentations. We are incredibly excited to see the ideas they will showcase in March.”
“CU Futures remains a vital part of the Credit Union Foundation’s mission to strengthen the credit union movement by developing its people. With its mix of professional training, peer networking, and real-world project delivery, the programme is helping to secure a bright future for the sector.”
