First Rate Credit Union has launched a new environmental initiative, First Rate Forest, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and community impact.
Partnering with environmental Just One Tree, the initiative will see at least one tree planted for every new member who joins First Rate Credit Union. The scheme links personal financial wellbeing with positive environmental action, creating benefits that extend beyond individual members to the wider planet.
By choosing to join First Rate Credit Union, members will now play a direct role in supporting global reforestation efforts. The credit union will provide regular updates on the number of trees funded and the environmental impact achieved, ensuring transparency and measurable outcomes.
Mike Barry, Chief Executive Officer of First Rate Credit Union, said: “Credit unions exist to make a positive difference, not just financially but socially and environmentally too. First Rate Forest is a simple way for our members to know that by saving responsibly, they are also helping to protect the planet and invest in a greener future for the next generation.”
The initiative offers an additional incentive for those considering joining First Rate Credit Union, while existing members are encouraged to help the forest grow by spreading the word among colleagues, friends and family.
First Rate Credit Union thanked its current members for their continued support and highlighted that every new member will now contribute to a lasting environmental legacy.
