For the fourth year in a row, on International Credit Union, Engage proudly hosted its Unsung Credit Union Hero Awards, an annual celebration recognising individuals who have made vital commitment to the credit union sector. The awards offer a platform to share inspiring stories and recognize the tireless efforts of those who often go unnoticed.

Engage were pleased to announce that Lisa Warburton of Unify Credit Union is this year’s winner of the Staff Member of the Year category.

The judges agreed that Lisa’s exceptional work in the Credit Union community has improved the financial well-being of many.

“It’s a real pleasure to be able to recognise and reward the fantastic work staff and volunteers do within their Credit Unions”, says Geoff Leech of Engage.  “Choosing a winner from so many worthy nominations is never an easy task, as each nominee demonstrates such extraordinary commitment to the cause.

“On behalf of the Engage team I would like to say a huge thank you to all who took the time to nominate members of staff or volunteers, and to everyone who has supported our efforts to raise awareness of Credit Unions and the people who run them”.

ABCUL’s Head of Member Engagement, Debbie Smith-Hands was welcomed on this year’s judging panel and said: “It is always inspiring to hear how credit union staff and volunteers are constantly going above and beyond for their members and communities.

“Thank you to all the nominees, it was a pleasure reading about all the fantastic work that you do in your credit unions.”
