ABCUL’s Technology & Change Special Interest Group (SIG) held its third successful meeting this week, bringing together 35 credit union professionals from across the movement for a dynamic session exploring the role of artificial intelligence in credit unions.

The webinar, chaired by the SIG Chair, Sally O’Hara of The Penny Post Group, featured a keynote presentation from Matt Howarth, Co-Founder of Reason Digital. Matt shared expert insights into the potential of AI to support member services, enhance operational efficiency and drive innovation within the credit union sector.

Reflecting on the event, Sally said: “It’s been fantastic to see such strong engagement from members in this Special Interest Group. We’ve now held three successful meetings, each one building momentum and fostering great collaboration between the committee and attendees.”

The Technology & Change SIG was launched by the Committee to provide a dedicated space for credit union professionals to connect, collaborate, and navigate the evolving digital landscape together.

“This is exactly why I was so keen to spearhead this group – to create a space where ideas can be shared, challenges discussed, and innovation encouraged, helping credit unions to thrive in an evolving digital landscape,” Sally added.
