Amid growing concerns of stress caused from the cost-of-living crisis, Plane Saver Credit Union sponsored a Workplace Mental Health Seminar, hosted by West London Chambers.

The event took place at Brentford Football Club, and West London Chambers also invited Plane Saver Credit Union to speak to employers to equip them with the tools and knowledge to best support workers during this difficult period. Business owners and corporate teams spoke up about their troubles with workplace mental health and were shown how to make sure their people don’t struggle with the same problems.

Rachel Downing, Head of Business Development said: “We know how essential it is to encourage people to open up and talk honestly about their finances. That’s why we were delighted to sponsor the event. Our research has found that workplaces that protect the financial wellbeing of their employees will have a happier and healthier workforce. It was gratifying to be in a room with business owners who recognise responsibility in the work force in reducing stress”.

Sally Smith, COO of West London Chambers and Chair of the event said: “It was fantastic that Plane Saver was able to sponsor the event. We had some great speakers, including Sarah Davidson from Plane Saver who spoke on financial wellbeing. This is the second year we have held such an event, and it was very well received by employers and local businesses. It sparked a lively discussion and prompted numerous shared experiences.”

Plane Saver was founded in 1993 by a group of British Airways Engineers. They wanted to provide a range of flexible savings and affordable loans to their colleagues. Through its partnerships with businesses and individual memberships, the credit union this week were excited to announce there are now 27,000 people as part of its membership.
