Plane Saver Credit Union Celebrates 30th Anniversary and AGM

Plane Saver Credit Union (PSCU) commemorated its 30th Anniversary during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, December 14th, 2023 at the Marriott Hotel Bath Road, Heathrow. Hosted by PSCU Business Consultant, Anna Masheter, this hybrid AGM was the credit union’s first in-person offsite meeting since the pandemic.

Robert Kelly, ABCUL CEO attended the event and delivered a keynote speech on the pivotal roles of credit unions in challenging economic landscapes. He shed light on recent legislative reforms influencing credit unions and highlighted how mergers within the sector aim to strengthen collective capabilities.

Gary Lewis, PSCU’s CEO, outlined the strides made in investments, particularly in people and technology, with a commitment to enhancing member experiences. Investment plans were emphasised, focusing on expanding service offerings securely and maintaining user-friendly delivery.

Exceptional contributions were acknowledged, with Lending Manager James Jordan receiving the ‘Team Member of the Year’ award for his outstanding work ethic and teamwork. Ian Atkins, Chair, and Co-founder of PSCU received a special award for visionary leadership and 30 years of dedicated service.

PSCU celebrated its 2023 achievements which included nearly doubling its loan book, and hinted at additions to its offerings in 2024, aiming to address the cost-of-living crisis uniquely for a credit union.

Though specifics haven’t been fully disclosed, Plane Saver teased upcoming member benefits such as E-vouchers, gift cards, cashback offers, and various savings across major retailers, including discounts on utilities and supermarkets. These exclusive deals will be extended to members, employees, and new payroll partners in the coming year.
