The Board of Plane Saver Credit Union has announced the appointment of Gary Lewis as its new Chief Executive Officer. With a proven track record of leadership and innovation, Gary is set to lead Plane Saver into a new era of growth and adaptability, ensuring the credit union remains a robust and member-focused institution in the face of 21st-century challenges.

Under Gary Lewis’s stewardship as Interim CEO, Plane Saver has witnessed strong progress, solidifying its position as a dynamic credit union prepared to navigate the evolving financial landscape – according to the credit union.

“Gary recognises the imperative need for adaptation in both operational strategies and member service delivery. In an era where online transactions dominate, Plane Saver is committed to ensuring its technological infrastructure is robust and secure to meet the demands of an increasingly digital world”, says Founder and Board Chair, Ian Atkins.

Acknowledging the challenges posed by the changing dynamics of work, Gary emphasises the importance of addressing the wellbeing of Plane Saver’s employees. This commitment extends beyond the digital realm, aiming to create supportive environments that enhance employee health and overall well-being.

“As we move forward, we must be cognisant of the challenges that come with new ways of working. This includes building robust and secure technological infrastructure, caring for the wellbeing of our employees, and ensuring the seamless delivery of top-notch service to our members,” remarked Gary Lewis.

The rapid integration of automation in financial services is an area of focus for Plane Saver under Lewis’s leadership. While recognising the efficiencies automation can bring, the credit union is steadfast in its commitment to maintaining personalised interactions with members. Automation will be offered as a convenient alternative, ensuring that it complements rather than replaces direct communication.

“We are embracing technological advancements to enhance efficiency, but we will never allow automation to compromise the personalised service that sets Plane Saver apart. It will be an alternative means for our members’ convenience, not a replacement for direct communication,” Gary emphasised.
