Pioneer of the Credit Union Movement Jim Clancy Retires After Over 35 Years of Involvement
Jim Clancy – founding member of Metro Moneywise Credit Union, active member of the Greater Manchester Chapter, former ABCUL Board member and Founder of the Credit Union Historical Society has retired after 35 years of service to the sector.

Jim Clancy – founding member of Metro Moneywise Credit Union, active member of the Greater Manchester Chapter, former ABCUL Board member and Founder of the Credit Union Historical Society has retired after 35 years of service to the sector.
Jim has been the longest serving volunteer at Metro Moneywise Credit Union, joining the steering group that led to the foundation of Rochdale Council Employees Credit Union on 1st October 1990, and has been there through decades of steady growth.
Jim is well known in the movement for his “passion and dedication to credit unions, as well as his colourful language and excellent Irish dancing skills” says Ciara Davies, Metro Moneywise CEO as she expressed her appreciation for Jim’s enduring passion for the foundations of the British credit union sector.
