Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, plans for Penny Post Credit Union’s AGM were halted and rescheduled for a later date. Last month the credit union shared highlights of a successful year of service to members on a virtual online call.
In its annual report, CEO of Penny Post, Matt Goulding shared that 890 new members were welcomed to the Penny Post family in the financial year and as a result the credit union has now over 10,000 members. Penny Post also had a record year for lending as it issued loans to the value of £9 million with the total value of its loan portfolio now being over £14 million. In the past 12 months, Penny Post have focused more attention on how it uses technology in order to improve members’ online experience. This includes introducing new features such as online loan applications, online debit card payments and the Nivo app, which provides a secure and user-friendly communication channel.
Looking ahead to the future, Matt said: “As we look forward to the next 12 months, we will continue to invest in our fantastic and dedicated staff team to develop a culture of continuous improvement. We will also invest in technology to improve and add more features to our online and digital service, whilst ensuring that we offer the best experience for those members who prefer to communicate through more traditional channels.”
Penny Post also had reason to celebrate throughout lockdown as Chief Finance Officer, Louise Ingleby reached her 20th Anniversary working at the Credit Union.
Penny Post President, Dave Jones said “Congratulations Louise on 20 years of loyal service to the Penny Post. Penny Post is where it is because obviously a lot of people have put a lot of hard work in, and I put you right at the top of that list, Louise”.
Reflecting on the past year, Dave also said: “It has been another prosperous year for the Penny Post Credit Union. You have an excellent team in the Penny Post office, they all play an important part in elevating your credit union into one of the UK’s leading and most respected financial organisations.
“They are led by Matt Goulding our CEO, ably assisted by his Senior Management team Louise Ingleby and Andrea Broady. I would also like to mention one of the younger members of our team, Jas Kaur. She has represented our credit union at various European events and has been recognised for her commitment at various awards, winning a prestigious national award for young credit union professionals. I look forward to another successful year as the credit union continues to grow.”
