The NHS Credit Union were shortlisted for 2 awards in last month’s Consumer Credit Awards; Best Credit Union (North) and Healthy Culture Champion Award.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions the awards took place on a live Twitter ceremony, where the NHS Credit Union was delighted to receive the Healthy Culture Champion Award 2020.

During the COVID-19 pandemic the NHS Credit Union developed several support sections within its website to help members.  The Credit Union launched 3 brand new, low cost loan products at the end of Juneto further help ease the financial burden of COVID-19 on its members: The Lifting Lockdown Loan, Ten Month Loan and Super Savers Scheme Loan. Supportive credit control was on hand for individual members and an emergency grant was available for members in extreme distress.

CEO of NHS Credit Union, Ruth Dorman said: “I am delighted that we’re the recipients of this award, it is a great testament to our members and how they engage and support us and also to an amazing staff team who deliver directly to and for our members.”

The Consumer Credit Awards help to put customers at the heart of the industry; with a mission to increase trust and transparency in financial services. The winners are determined by members/customers and not industry experts, making the awards even more special.
