Mosshill Credit Union is proud to announce that it has received grant funding from North Lanarkshire Council’s Improving Life’s Local Action Fund. Directors, volunteers and staff have also donated funds. This will enable them to offer a special Christmas Day dinner for its members and the wider community. This initiative is aimed at ensuring that families in the area have the opportunity to enjoy a festive meal together, despite the financial pressures often felt during the holiday season.

Mosshill  credit union are part of the local area network that work together to provide food parcels, gifts and Christmas dinner to our local community. We all work together to help our local community both at Christmas and throughout the year.

The Christmas dinner will be provided for families to cook at home and will include a three-course meal with all the trimmings, as well as Christmas crackers to bring extra joy to the occasion. Additionally, complete step-by-step instructions will be given to families, helping them come together in the kitchen to prepare the festive feast.

Julie Reddin, CEO of Mosshill Credit Union, spoke about the importance of community support during this time of year: “At Mosshill, we understand how difficult the festive period can be for many families, especially during such a costly time of year. That’s why we are so grateful for the funding that allows us to offer this Christmas Day dinner initiative.

“It is more than just a meal; it’s an opportunity for families to come together, to create memories, and to feel supported by their community. Credit unions like ours are at the heart of local communities, and we are committed to providing assistance and ensuring that our members have the support they need, especially during challenging times.”

“The credit union’s volunteers, directors, and staff will be actively involved in coordinating and delivering the dinners during Christmas week, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that no family is left behind. Mosshill Credit Union extends a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated volunteers and staff members who are generously giving their time to make this initiative a success.

“We could not do this without the incredible support of our volunteers and staff. Their commitment to the community is what makes initiatives like this possible, and we are so thankful for all they do,” added Julie.
