Hoot Credit Union Wins Social Enterprise of the Year Award

Hoot Credit Union Ltd were named this year’s Social Enterprise of the Year at the Bolton Business Awards. Located off Victoria Square, it aims to grow the market penetration of the business from 2.5 per cent to five per cent of Bolton’s population.

In giving the award, Bolton News said that Hoot won because of the impact it makes on the financial well-being of the community, and the success it has demonstrated in maintaining a community-owned business in a competitive market.

The award has boosted the enthusiasm of our employees to do even more to help the most financially challenged, and also to get the message out that everyone can benefit from our services”

Chris added: “We plan to grow the market penetration of the business from 2.5 per cent to 5 per cent of the population of Bolton, in doing so increasing membership to 7,500, increasing our income by 24 per cent.

“We have a community engagement and business development strategy and resource in place to help us achieve these goals.”
