HI-Scot Credit Union serves the needs of those living or working in the Scottish Highlands and Islands and has recently achieved successes within its loan book and a marketing campaign.
Despite the disruption credit unions faced during the pandemic HI-Scot issued more than £1m in loans between September 2021 and September 2022 across their 3,300 members. General Manager of Hi-Scot Credit Union, David Mackay, expressed his pleasure at the credit union’s ability to return to “relative normality” following the global disruption.
Part of this success was due to Hi-Scot’s new advertising campaign which David described as a “post pandemic relaunch” and was designed with local firm Loom Graphics.
Other than the campaign’s success in maintaining a healthy loan book, HI-Scot’s campaign has been nominated at the Scottish Design Awards. Speaking about the basis of the campaign, David and the Hi-Scot team aim to “get the Highlands & Islands saving” with an emphasis on developing payroll deduction arrangements to add to the many employers they already work with.
David said the campaign will be used to relaunch the benefits of saving via payroll deduction for “tens of thousands of employees” across the Highlands & Islands.
Commenting on the success of HI-Scot’s achievements, ABCUL CEO, Robert Kelly said: “It is great to celebrate the resilience of credit unions following what has been a tough few years, so we wish good luck to Hi-Scot in the Scottish Design Awards”.
