HEY Credit Union (HEY CU) has worked hard to continue to deliver excellent service to its members throughout 2020 and is looking forward to its first ever virtual AGM next month. Chief Executive, John Smith said: “Although the past year has been one of the most challenging in our 21-year history, we’ve managed to grow still further our impact across the Humber Region and beyond, and even strengthened our reserves.”
In April, HEY CU launched a Key Worker Loan with a preferential interest rate of just 1% per month to provide practical support for those working hard to keep essential services running under difficult conditions. A couple months on from the launch of the Key Worker Loan, HEY CU introduced a new streamlined loan administration system which made the process of lending more efficient for members and the team, while eliminating paper records.
John continued: “We’ve been pleased to help more people to obtain affordable credit, through our special Key Worker Loan deal, while our savings balances are £1.5 million higher than a year ago.”
“The directors and I are immensely proud of our amazing staff, volunteers and partners, who have worked tirelessly throughout these difficult times, keeping all services going for our members, and being there for them without fail. The kind messages and reviews we get back shows how much their efforts are appreciated.
“Our recent investments in modern technology have proved very beneficial, enabling us to provide a speedy and responsive service even when branches were temporarily closed, and of course we are now looking forward to our first ever online AGM!”
