GMB Credit Union Joins the Association

ABCUL is delighted to welcome GMB Credit Union (GMBCU) to the Association, who will join the East-Midlands and North-West Forum.

GMBCU was established in 1999 as a simpler, fairer savings and loans provider for GMB members and their families nationally.

“We were delighted to join the ABCUL family with effect from the 1 March 2022,” says CEO, Hans Billman. “We believe that sector collaboration will be the key to future success and in our preliminary discussions with the ABCUL team, our Board were very impressed by their drive, commitment and vision of the future.”

GMBCU has recently exceeded £15 million in assets and Hans believes as the credit union continues to grow, so does the level of risk, compliance and regulatory control. “We believe that through ABCUL’s commitment to the sector and wide range of member resource, such as the ABCUL Academy, membership will bring added value to our business plans” Hans added.
