The British Global Women’s Leadership Network (GWLN) is pleased to welcome Jo-ann Robertson, CEO for Ketchum UK who will lead a discussion on why diversity matters, drawing on her personal experiences as a women leader and mother.
Jo-ann’s nearly 20-year career has included significant agency experience in addition to stints in broadcast journalism and political communications. She began her career as a political activist and a TV reporter in Scotland. Under her leadership, Ketchum’s London operation has been honoured as PRovoke’s U.K. Consultancy of the Year and received recognition for its deep commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion from Creative Equals and PRWeek’s Best Places to Work in the U.K.
“It is an absolute pleasure to speak to the Global Women’s Leadership Network. I’ll focus on the challenges women face in the workplace, and wider society, and how we can all work together to build a more diverse and inclusive country,” says Jo-ann.
The network is part of a global movement that is dedicated to addressing the gender imbalance among credit union leadership positions worldwide. Since its establishment, GWLN has grown to more than 2600 female and male members with more than 80 chapters across 18 countries.
The Network provides an annual scholarship to female leaders within the credit union sector so they develop new skills, tools and resources to make an impact in their credit union.
Chair of the British Network and CEO of Tail O’ The Bank Credit Union, Beth Welsh said: “GWLN forms an important part of the credit union networking infrastructure giving members a safe space to discuss the high and lows to being a credit union leader, it is especially important within the current climate of self-isolation to provide an outlet and support to all members. It is also an aim of GWLN to ensure that equality is entrenched with the sector.”
