It was a celebration 40 years in the making – First Rate Credit Union’s 40th anniversary AGM was a huge success, with members turning out to celebrate four decades of service.
The AGM was an opportunity for members to come together and reflect on the credit union’s achievements over the past four decades. “From humble beginnings, we have grown to become a vital part of our members’ lives, helping thousands of people achieve their financial goals,” says CEO, of First Rate Credit Union, Mike Barry. “The credit union is truly a testament to the power of people working together for a common cause.”
One of the highlights of the AGM was the announcement of a dividend of 2.15% for First Rate savers, a market-leading rate for the 2021/2022 financial year. “This is a reflection of the credit union’s solid financial performance and our commitment to sharing our success with those who helped make it happen,” Mike added.
As part of a prize draw, First Rate member, David Flood, won a jackpot prize of a new Toyota Yaris Design Hybrid. David’s car had recently broken down, so he was delighted to get not only a new car, but a hybrid that will help environmentally and he estimated will save him £35 a week in commuting costs, helping ease the cost-of-living crisis.
Mike continued: “Overall, it was an unforgettable event, and we couldn’t be prouder of all that we’ve accomplished over the past 40 years. Here’s to many more years of serving our community and helping our members reach their financial goals.”
