From humble beginnings in 1982 collecting coins in a cash tin for BAE employees, First Rate Credit Union has grown to be one of the largest asset-based credit unions in the country and this week has celebrated its 40th anniversary of service to members.
“Our 40th anniversary is a very special and momentous occasion. I would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to everyone who has been involved to provide a much-valued service amongst our members, over the years. Managing over 17m worth of assets for over 5,000 BAE staff and families is a responsibility that gives First Rate staff enormous pride and we look forward to continuing this service onto the next decade.”
Marking the special occasion, First Rate is launching a competition which gives members an opportunity to win a hybrid Car, which will help them to save money on fuel and help the environment.
First Rate have also revealed a fresh new brand image and new website with more upgrades to products and services to come in the months ahead.
ABCUL CEO, Robert Kelly said: “On behalf of the entire Association, I’d like to express our congratulations to First Rate Credit Union and thanks for providing four decades of vital service – this is a wonderful achievement and one that should be celebrated.”
