Enterprise Credit Union (ECU) has had lots to celebrate recently as the Merseyside-based credit union celebrate its 35th birthday in August. The landmark event was coupled with the announcement of over £2m lent to members in July, its biggest July yet.
As ECU celebrated their 35th birthday, Karen Bennett, CEO reflected on how much the credit union has grown since its inception in 1988.
Reflecting on ECU’s growth since its inception in 1988, CEO, Karen Bennett said: “It seems like yesterday when I became the ‘coordinator’ of Huyton Credit Union [the former name of ECU] in 1998. The impact our credit union has made to so many people’s lives is incredible and even after 35 years the values we cherish have never wavered”.
In July ECU issued loans to over 2,800 families within their Merseyside common bond which totalled to over £2m. Karen added: “This lending milestone was an incredible result for the Enterprise team as it shows we are working hard to help thousands of families every month”.
