In a special 30th anniversary year for Commsave, the postal-based credit union has more reason to celebrate after launching its new website which will improve digital services for members.

Founded in 1991 to serve postal workers in Northampton, the credit union now services over 31,000 members throughout GB working for Royal Mail, employees of the UK Civil Service, various communications companies, the UK fishing industry, and anyone living or working in the NN postcode area.

The new website contains details of its products and services, as well as an expanded ‘Help Centre’ with lots of useful information, answers to commonly asked questions, and links to helpful online resources such as its online portal ‘CU Right’. CU Right contains more than 50 helpful articles across a range of subjects, from saving and borrowing, to dealing with debt and life events. CURight also includes a Money Motivations Test, designed to help you better understand how you think about money.

“At Commsave, we are always thinking of what more we can do to improve the well-being of our members. CURight offers the information and tools people need to make sound financial decisions,” says Commsave CEO, Amanda Ivey said.

Further enhanced improvements include the credit union members’ ability to withdraw from savings being quicker than ever. New improvements mean savings withdrawal requests using the Commsave app, website, or telephone service, reaching nominated accounts much faster, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Following the credit union’s 30th anniversary, ABCUL CEO, Robert Kelly said: “The last 30 years have seen Commsave Credit Union grow from its original Royal Mail staff field of membership to become one of the largest credit unions in the whole of the UK. That growth trajectory has been built on such a strong ethos and value proposition, a tremendous dedication to members, a desire to innovate around products, services and field of membership and a desire to educate and provide financial resilience for its thousands of members.

“I am very proud to have Commsave Credit Union as an integral member of ABCUL as they help drive the overall credit union sector forward. Well done to our friends and colleagues and here’s to the next 30 years.”
