Darlington Credit Union Launch New Financial Services Hub

Darlington Credit Union is excited to announce the official launch of its new service hub to support the people of Catterick and Colburn.

The credit union is answering a call to action from several organisations currently supporting people in Richmondshire. It was recognised that debt and financial management are often a wider health determinant for people living in some communities and that a credit union presence can provide the services and support needed to improve financial health and wellbeing.

Chief Executive of Darlington Credit Union, Jo Price said: “Our mission is to empower our members with the financial tools and resources they need to achieve their goals.

“We believe that developing a positive savings habit can lead to a greater sense of wellbeing and reduced anxiety about money. As an affordable and fair lender, we are here to help people make their dreams come true as well as support them through difficult times.

“Since the collapse of a number of ‘doorstep’ and ‘payday’ lenders many more people have fallen victim to unregulated lenders and loan sharks. We pledge to help as many people as we possibly can to borrow responsibly and ethically and where we are not able to lend we hope to help them to find other means of support.”
