Last month marked the 74th anniversary of International Credit Union Day and the team at Engage Account celebrated that event, by launching its ‘Unsung Hero Award’. The award recognises the hard work, compassion, and determination that goes into the day-to-day operations of a credit union.
“Engage has been exclusively supporting credit unions for over 10 years,” says Managing Director of Engage Account, Geoff Leech. “This year we wanted to give the UK movement the chance to recognise the efforts of those behind the scenes; the front of house staff, the admin teams, the volunteers etc., all of whom work tirelessly for their credit unions, members, and wider communities. These people are unsung heroes and Engage is pleased to be able to do our bit to help celebrate their hard work and contributions”.
Engage Account is seeking stories of extraordinary acts, these can be one-off events or examples of ongoing commitment and hard work to help better the communities they serve..
“I’m delighted to see people who work tirelessly in the credit union sector in providing a vital day-to-day service are being recognised for their dedicated and valued service to members,” says ABCUL CEO, Robert Kelly. “I’d like to thank Engage for creating the awards and for shining a light on the sector’s unsung heroes, those who dedicate a great deal of time and energy to their communities across the country.”
The applications will be judged by a panel of judges with the winner announced on the 22nd of November. For further details about the awards and to submit nominations, please visit the Engage Account website.
