Council Leaders Visit Wirral Credit Union

Last month, leader of Wirral Borough Council, Councillor Paul Stuart and CEO Paul Satoor, visited the office of Wirral Credit Union to discuss how the council can lend support to strengthen the local economy be financially enabling its community through the credit union.

Last month, leader of Wirral Borough Council, Councillor Paul Stuart and CEO Paul Satoor, visited the office of Wirral Credit Union to discuss how the council can lend support to strengthen the local economy be financially enabling its community through the credit union.

Wirral Council is the oldest and first payroll partner of Wirral Credit Union and we have been working together for over 32 years to improve the financial resilience of council staff and residents of Wirral alike.

Established in 1992 Wirral CU have provided over £50 million in small loans for its members.

“We’re always striving to promote financial inclusion and well-being within Wirral by making our ethical, affordable financial services accessible and relevant to all,” says Steven Kendrick, of Wirral Credit Union.  “Our vision to help improve the financial resilience of the communities we serve has never been more important.

“We discussed a range of topics, including school projects, incentive schemes for savers, loan shark awareness and wider promotion of Wirral Credit Union.

“We are grateful for the support of the local authority and we are excited to develop our longstanding partnership as we move forward.”
