On the 2nd October Leicester-based Clockwise Credit Union officially merged with Rugby Credit Union with the full operational merge to be completed later this month.
Janet Hodgson, Chair of the Board of Rugby Credit Union praised the efforts of staff during the merger process and said: “Staff and Directors look forward to joining Clockwise Credit Union”. As a large and highly successful community credit union, Janet said “We are confident that with [Clockwise’s] expertise and resources, services to Rugby members can flourish”.
Clockwise Credit Union will welcome new colleagues from Rugby into the team and gain an office in Rugby town centre. The Rugby office remains ‘open as usual’ and the newly unified staff welcome any members with queries about the merger to get in contact.
Teresa Manning MBE, CEO of Clockwise Credit Union said: “we are really pleased that the merger has come together. Through our digital solutions, financial and management systems, Clockwise aims to broaden and improve the range of services to Rugby Credit Union members. We will be working hard to expand the provision of affordable and ethical financial services throughout the area, where credit union membership is relatively low.”
After more than 30 years of Clockwise Credit Union serving the community, Teresa said: “We’re keen to widen the positive social impact credit unions have on a local economy, and strive to support the financial wellbeing of the community through our products and services and our Community Grant Scheme. We are hugely excited about the future of Clockwise”.
