Clockwise operates a Community Grant Scheme that awards local groups and individuals grants for a whole range of items that ultimately benefit the community the group/individual works to serve. Last month, Clockwise visited Together Against Cancer to present a cheque to support cancer patients.
Together Against Cancer is an international charity which assists in the relief of cancer and similar conditions through education, complementary therapies, grants and public awareness.
They are committed to helping those fighting and recovering from illness. Their mission is ultimately to equip as many people as possible with the power to take control of their own health.
Operations Manager at Clockwise, Emma Franklin-Keogh said it was a privilege to present the credit union’s community grant to the charity, adding: “Together Against Cancer help clients who have cancer or are recovering from cancer by offering a variety of wellbeing sessions. There is such a warm welcome the staff which instantly relaxes visitors to the centre.”
A spokesperson for the charity said: “We’re very grateful to Clockwise Credit Union for its support with our essential equipment. As we have been operating for over 7 years, we are seeing a need for more repairs recently. This grant has been very timely and will help us continue delivering the same quality of care to further individuals.”
