The Sun recently featured Charlotte, an NHS worker, and her husband, who found themselves in a difficult financial situation around the birth of their second daughter, but through perseverance and the aid of CLEVR Money Credit Union, they transformed their financial circumstances.
The family was struggling with debts, causing emotional distress, and facing difficult choices between affording essentials like food and heating. Thankfully, Charlotte discovered CLEVR Money Credit Union through an NHS staff newsletter; describing it as a “godsend,” she attested to its transformative impact on her mindset and financial habits.
Taking proactive steps, the couple engaged with creditors with the assistance of Citizens Advice Bureau, arranging manageable repayment plans. Charlotte also initiated a savings scheme through CLEVR Money Credit Union, emphasising the importance of simultaneous saving alongside debt repayment for mental well-being.
“We are so pleased we could help Charlotte turn her finances around and improve her financial health” said CLEVR Money Credit Union Chief Operating Officer, Jackie Colebourne. Jackie continued, “We know it is not easy breaking habits but her will power mixed with the services and expertise of CLEVR Money Credit Union has allowed her journey towards a debt-free life whilst building her savings.
