Last month, Central Credit Union (CCU) celebrated its 35th year of service at a special event welcoming staff, volunteers and directors that have served their local credit union for over three decades.
The celebration at the Titanic Hotel Liverpool, toasted to the continued success and growth of the credit union. “A huge thank you to everyone who made this event so special,” said CEO at Central Credit Union, Eileen Halligan. “Our incredible staff, dedicated volunteers, loyal members, partner organisations, and fellow credit unions. Your support and enthusiasm remind us why we do what we do every single day.”
Founded on the principles of financial inclusion and community empowerment, after three and a half decades of supporting the financial wellbeing of individuals and families within the Liverpool City Region, CCU have seen remarkable success and growth. “Our 35th anniversary is a significant milestone.” says Eileen Halligan. “It’s a testament to the dedication of our team and the trust placed in us by our members.
To empower even more communities, it has expanded its common bond beyond the Liverpool City Region. Our common bond will now cover West Lancashire, Wigan, Warrington, Chester, and Cheshire West.
This means residents across these areas can now become members and benefit from the unique advantages of belonging to CCU. This extension also gave an opportunity to officially announce its name change from ‘Central Liverpool Credit Union’ to ‘Central Credit Union.’
“This re brand and expanded common bond signify our commitment to empowering even more communities across the North West,” Eileen added. “We’re excited to welcome new members and continue providing tailored financial solutions that prioritise their wellbeing the credit union slogan “PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE” has never been more pertinent.”
