ABCUL is delighted to welcome Celtic Credit Union to the Association who will join the Cymru Forum.

First established as Neath Port Talbot Credit Union opened on April 1st 2005 and, after merging with Afan Savers Credit Union in 2008, its growth has been spectacular – with 10,000 members and assets of over £4m.

Chief Executive of Celtic Credit Union, Steve Mallinson said: “Celtic Credit Union is pleased to renew its membership of ABCUL after a seven year absence because we believe that our combined aims are now closely allied.

“In a rapidly changing financial climate, we recognise that it is important to be a member of a trade body that has proven significant influence and hope that there will be a mutual benefit from the relationship with the ability to exchange views and take advantage of the comprehensive training packages now available.

ABCUL Chief Executive, Robert Kelly said: “I am delighted to welcome Celtic Credit Union back into membership on behalf of the Association’s board, staff and our members across the country.

“We are looking forward to working with the Board and staff team at Celtic Credit Union make the most of their membership and participate in powerful co-operation through Britain’s largest credit union trade body. Our members in Wales, where there is strong collaboration in action, will no doubt be delighted to have their input through the ABCUL Cymru Forum as well.”
