Addressing members at its virtual AGM, Advance Credit Union were delighted to share a record-breaking year welcoming over 500 new members, an increase of savings of 9% and providing over 3,000 affordable loans to its membership of 5,400.

“As a credit union we have been reminded of our purpose; we are a people business, not a money business,” says CEO of Advance Credit Union, Phil Cole. “Everything we do is about supporting our members, our community, and enabling them to not just survive, but to flourish.”

“We are particularly pleased that our membership is extending across the whole of Birmingham; internet banking has made it so much easier for members to manage their savings and loans without having to visit us in person.”

Looking ahead to the remaining of 2022, the credit union’s priority is  fitting out its new office in Birmingham city centre, reviewing its branding, and a further project upgrading its backend systems and communications.

Phil added: “A special thank you goes to our staff team, despite the disruption of recent years they have remained focused, positive, putting members’ needs first plus embraced our training and development schedule with enthusiasm and humour.”
