Acclaim for Bradford District Credit Union at Apprentice Awards

Bradford District Credit Union (BDCU) is leading the way in employing young people through its apprenticeship schemes with 25% of its workforce made up of apprentices.

BDCU’s Marketing Apprentice on the Community Development and Marketing Team, Fizza earned the Special Recognition at the Yorkshire Apprenticeship of the Year Awards for her dedication.

The awards were hosted by BDCU’s payroll partner Bradford College, who provide the apprentices, to bring together employers and celebrate the achievements of apprentices like Fizza who are helping shape the workforce of tomorrow.

Kelly McAlester, Head of Apprenticeships at Bradford College, praised Fizza for her efforts in promoting financial inclusion and community development through the Credit Union which are helping BDCU grow by over 1000 new members a year. Kelly also praised BDCU’s strong focus on apprenticeships saying it’s clear they’re committed to nurturing talent and driving innovation in the financial sector through community development.

Community Development Lead at Bradford District Credit Union, Ian Brewer said: “A huge thank you to Payroll Partner Bradford College, our apprentice provider, for its continued partnership and support.

“With two new apprentices joining us, apprentices like Fizza now represent 25% of our staff team, emphasising our commitment to developing young talent.”
