ABCUL Prepares for its Annual Conference Next Week
Next week, the Association will welcome its membership to Manchester for its annual conference event. The conference is the largest credit union gathering in Britain and an expected 200+ ABCUL credit union professionals will be attending.

Next week, the Association will welcome its membership to Manchester for its annual conference event. The conference is the largest credit union gathering in Britain and an expected 200+ ABCUL credit union professionals will be attending.
“The two-day event will provide a fantastic opportunity for credit union board members, staff and volunteers to hear from a wide range of speakers, discussing the issues that are important to them and network with others from the movement.,” says ABCUL CEO, Robert Kelly.
Day one will feature the re-launch of Britain’s Chapter of the Global Women’s Leadership Network. Director of the Global Women’s Leadership Network in the US, Lena Giakoumopoulos will be speaking at the session, joined also by Councillor Joanna Midgley – Deputy leader of Manchester City Council.
2023 and beyond will be a year of change for the credit union sector, with the long-awaited legislative changes allowing product diversity.
With this subject being ABCUL’s main priority, the conference will welcome Dele Adeleye, Head of Division at the Prudential Regulation Authority, who will discuss the opportunities available to the sector and how credit unions can ensure their sustainability while improving the services offered to members.
As well as plenary sessions from expert speakers across the financial industry, delegates will be able to attend 18 thought-provoking workshops.
