Over 40 staff and volunteers from across the East and West Midlands Forum areas met together in Coventry, last week for the inaugural joint ABCUL’s East and West Midlands forum conference.
ABCUL’s Members’ Relationship Manager, Jake Hatch also attended the training event, Jake said: “This was a fantastic event, and I am thankful to all organisers for delivering a very relevant and engaging event.”
Topics covered over the two-days included: managing stress, arrears & collections, digital marketing, attributes of high performing credit unions and why credit unions fail, AML, PEPS and sanctions, understanding accounts, building a successful board, co-operative principles and the Co-op Credit union purpose project. There was also a session led by representatives of ABCUL’s Young Professionals Network, where delegates learned more about the Network, its achievements made since its inception and what they have planned for the future.
“At ABCUL we’re determined to continuously improve our forums, so members get real benefits from regular meetings and events,” added Jake. “It is clear that the topics we covered remain key areas of interest for all credit unions. I have no doubt the material we covered at the event will not only benefit credit union members, but also help to create more robust, secure and resilient credit unions.”
