July 2022 marks the return of the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) World Credit Union Conference in Glasgow, which will be co-hosted by ABCUL. To celebrate that next month, ABCUL’s North-East, Yorkshire and Humber will continue its series of five webinars with international speakers in the lead up to World Council’s flagship event.

The second webinar taking place on Monday 4 October will be focussed on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) with special guest speaker, WOCCU CEO & President, Elissa McCarter-LaBorde. Throughout the webinar, attendees will learn from credit union thought leaders on how DEI is making a difference in the credit union world and exploring further how practitioners put the principles of DEI into action in their credit union and the communities they serve.

“Members of our forum and credit unions across ABCUL membership have said how much they appreciated attending similar events we’ve hosted in the past,” says member of the Forum and Financial Inclusion Officer at Bradford District Credit Union, Ian Brewer. “This is a unique project that allows credit unions to collaborate on the important issues facing our sector, and day-to-day life.”

Webinar participants will be entered into a prize draw for a complimentary registration to the World Council’s Conference in Glasgow in 2022 (T&C’s apply – must attend a live session, 1 entry per session attendance, conference delegate pass only, no travel or accommodation).
