Featuring this week on the World Council of Credit Unions Podcast, ABCUL CEO, Robert Kelly discussed his delight to be co-hosting the WOCCU Conference in July and gave a taste to listeners of what to expect from the hosting city, Glasgow.
“As a Glaswegian, I’m particularly proud to co-host this event that brings so much value to credit union professionals from the city I call home,” says Robert. “For attendees to come to Glasgow to visit the city, the people and the credit unions in the area will be a special opportunity for all travelling in July”.
WOCCU has secured three world-renowned speakers for its conference event. Credit union executives from 60 countries are expected to attend the conference in July, which will focus on leadership, cybersecurity, digital technologies and the future of financial services.
Delegates who will be attending in July will have the opportunity to visit credit unions in the city and Robert gave an insight into the diverse range of credit unions that serve communities not only in Glasgow, but across the country.
“Glasgow is well known for its thriving credit union sector – more than one in four residents of the city is a member of a credit union – and the city of home to a range of credit unions, from a very large employer, focused credit unions, to smaller community-based credit unions.
“The community roots these credit unions have and the day-to-day impact they make on their members’ lives are great examples of people helping people and I’m delighted to showcase our members to visitors from across the globe.”
