The ABCUL Annual Conference and AGM is the largest event in the British credit union calendar. It provides the opportunity for credit union board members, staff and volunteers to hear from a wide range of speakers, to discuss the issues that are important to them and network with others from the movement.

ABCUL members will hear from Chief Executive, Robert Kelly will launch the outcome of the Association’s, Town Hall Consultation with a new vision and strategy document which will form the basis for the sector and ABCUL’s shared future and our lobbying priorities and service development agenda to support this.

For the second year in a row, the Economic Secretary to the Treasury, John Glen MP is confirmed as a keynote speaker at the ABCUL Annual Conference.

At last year’s conference, John spoke about his commitment to our sector and has shown a keen interest for tackling financial inclusion and growing credit unions in his two years in the role.

In the last 12 months, the Minister launched the pilot of the PrizeSaver Saving Scheme for credit unions. We are excited to have such a committed and enthusiastic Minister who is keen to support credit union development and this is typified by his pledge to attend the ABCUL conference for his second year in a row.

ABCUL will also host its third Young Professionals Network (YPN) meeting.  This session is dedicated to the future of the credit union movement, engaging young professionals in interactive discussion and networking. Delegates will learn about the strategic planning process, discuss the UK business model, and interact with professionals from international credit union sectors.
