On Friday evening, ABCUL proudly hosted its prestigious Annual Awards Ceremony, a highlight of the Annual Conference that celebrates the remarkable contributions of individuals across the credit union movement. Sponsored by The Co-operative Bank, this cherished tradition exemplifies the core values of the sector—people helping people—and serves as an opportunity to recognise and appreciate those who have gone above and beyond to support their communities.
Each year, the Awards Ceremony is an opportunity to honour the dedication, passion, and hard work of individuals who make the credit union movement what it is today. This year’s winners reflect the strength, resilience, and commitment that continue to drive the sector forward.
The winners of the 2025 ABCUL Awards are:
- The Tracy Slane Award – Recognising young leaders: Emily Alexander, The Penny Post Group
- The Kirit Patel Award – Honouring voluntary contributions: Andy Davey, The Money Co-op & Kathryn Fogg, Pennine Community Credit Union
- The Dolores Beckford Award – Celebrating women of colour in credit unions: Sarina Floan, City Save Credit Union
ABCUL President, Paul Norgrove, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the four winners, acknowledging their unwavering dedication to the credit union movement.
“It was a true privilege to announce this year’s winners on Friday evening—one of the most rewarding parts of my role as ABCUL President. Each of these individuals has made a lasting impact on their communities, demonstrating the values that define our movement. Their contributions embody the spirit of cooperation and the ethos of people helping people, and I couldn’t be more delighted to recognise them as truly deserving winners.”
The ABCUL Annual Awards Ceremony remains a powerful reminder of the sector’s collective mission: to empower communities, provide ethical financial solutions, and champion inclusivity. As we celebrate the achievements of this year’s winners, we also acknowledge the incredible efforts of all our members who continue to make a difference every day.
