Dear all,
The opportunity to join the ABCUL Board and influence what the Association does for its members closes at midnight tonight.
Nominations are still welcome from across the country – in all three of the new constituencies. We are particularly keen to attract nominations for Constituency 1 – Scotland, the North East, Yorkshire and Humber.
– There are three midweek meetings and three weekend meetings (including Annual Conference) each year. Travel, accommodation, meals and expenses (including loss of earnings and costs of caring if needed). You will NOT be out of pocket and remote access is available if you can’t travel to a meeting.
– You are supported with induction, a mentor, development opportunities, IT etc.
– You will bring your knowledge, experience and ideas – we can help you to develop your knowledge of the Association’s governance.
You can apply in Constituency 1 if you qualify as an employee, officer or significant volunteer in CU with its registered office in the constituency and if you meet ANY of the following criteria.
– Are below the age of 45
– Are from a working-class family background (not raised in a family with a professional / managerial main wage earner)
– Identify as LGBTQ+
– Do NOT identify as White British, White English, White Scottish, White Welsh, White Northern Irish
– Idenfity as neurodivergent
– Are involved with a credit union where assets are below £4 million
– Are involved with a credit union with a community or associational common bond.
You can apply in Constituency 2 – Wales, Midlands and North West – if you are a woman who qualifies.
Anyone who qualifies (employee, elected officer, significant volunteer in CU with registered officer in constituency) can apply in Constituency 3 – London, South East, East of England, South West.
