ASA rulings on CU Christmas Loan ads

Hi all,

I have just been made aware of these two Advertising Standards Authority rulings, in relation to Christmas loan advertising by two CUs:

I suspect a lot of credit unions have been routinely running similar ads at christmastime, and could potentially fall foul of the regulator going forwards if this indicates their new approach. Has anyone already started reviewing their marketing or updating policies etc to reflect these rulings? What impact are you expecting this to have on your marketing strategy, given how important christmas lending is for a lot of CUs? I foresee some discussions around this change internally, and I’d like to go into them armed with other people’s wisdom if possible! 😉
