Emma Norledge - Director for Constituency Three

Emma Norledge is currently the Deputy CEO of Wave community Bank based in East Sussex. She first became involved in credit unions as she was looking for a role that she could use her skills in marketing and communications in a way that would help the community. By bringing her experience to the credit union, she was able to help build a bigger, more sustainable credit union and get the message out more widely to the local community.

Emma joined the ABCUL Board as they were looking for new directors with the skills she has which she hopes she can use to help ABCUL to support its members in a productive way through raising engagement and awareness of ABCUL’s activities. She also wanted to develop her own career and build on her knowledge and experience by becoming involved with ABCUL.

She hopes to gain from the other board members, to understand the priorities that the board see for the credit union movement and the strategies to achieve these goals. She hopes to contribute by helping create strategies to help the ABCUL reach its goals as well as representing the needs of credit unions in the south.

Emma’s advice to people considering standing for the ABCUL Board is to give it a go! It’s a chance to use your skills in a new arena as well as gaining new knowledge and experience which can be used in your day job in the future.
