The next generation of credit union leaders will come together at next year’s ABCUL Annual Conference, in partnership with the World Council of Credit Unions and its Global Youth Summit.
ABCUL members will be able to register for the unique, invaluable learning program that allows young credit union professionals to connect, share and live the credit union values of cooperation and people helping people.
“Investing in the leaders of tomorrow is a priority for ABCUL. We are delighted to be welcoming the Global Youth Summit to Britain at our Annual Conference,” says ABCUL’s Head of Member Services, Rosanna Donovan.
Program Manager at WOCCU, Thomas Belekevich said: “A successful future for financial cooperatives will depend upon leaders who understand the strength and potential of the cooperative model. Working together, our local focus has a global impact.
“World Council and ABCUL will bring together perspectives from around the world during the Young Professional Exchange and Global Youth Summit 2020 to explore how financial cooperatives can redefine their relationship with young people.”
Leading up to the conference weekend, a delegation of young credit union professionals will spend time in London & Manchester to learn how the British credit unions sector operates, visit credit unions across the country and network with credit union peers from across the world to share new perspectives on credit union operations.
Following several days of motivational exchange in London and Manchester, participants on the program will attend, ABCUL’s Young Professionals Network event at the ABCUL Annual Conference.
Rosanna added: "Following on from two amazing YPN events, hosting a delegation of young professionals outside of Britain, is going to be a pivotal moment in our movement. The Network was set up to develop and retain the future leaders within the sector and those attending ABCUL’s next YPN event will engage with our next generation of leaders in the international credit union movement. It is sure to be a redefining and positive step forward, for the future of our movement.”
