Enterprise Credit Union CEO and ABCUL President Karen Bennett has been shortlisted for the annual Merseyside Woman of the Year award.
“To be included amongst some truly inspirational and fantastic candidates is a humbling and immensely proud moment for me,” says Karen.
The event is designed to find and reward the unsung heroines of Merseyside, for their achievements in just doing what they do best, changing lives and giving extra meaning to people’s lives across Merseyside.
As CEO of Enterprise, Karen has always been committed to her roots and values in the local community. She has been involved with Enterprise for over 20 years and has seen a major transformation in its membership – now serving over 20,000 members – making it one of the largest community development credit unions in the country.
Reflecting on the past 20 years dedicated to Enterprise, Karen said: “Being part of the credit union movement has always meant more to me than a job. I like to think I’m just one of many people helping people all across the UK, and the world.
“Just as credit unions have provided the foundation for my outlook in many things, I believe that nothing is achieved single-handedly. With this in mind, I’d like to say a massive thank you to everybody at Enterprise Credit Union, for the daily support you provide to myself and each other – it’s been my second home for over 20 years and I’ve loved every minute.”
Voting ends on the 10th June, if you wish to submit a vote for Karen, Please visit the official event website here.
