Executive Director of the Credit Union Foundation, Carol Strand is delighted to see the group winners have such a worthwhile trip and looks forward to the progression of the CU Futures class of 2019. Carol said: “This programme is a great opportunity for young people across our sector to learn and develop the leadership skills they need to be the future leaders of the sector. A key skill for any leader, and particularly in the credit union sector, is collaboration and the group projects give participants an opportunity to refine those skills by working together on their group projects. This year’s winners were excellent in their idea and its presentation and are deserving recipients of the study tour opportunity.
“We are very grateful to Citi Foundation and our colleagues in the Polish credit unions for their support for CU Futures; we look forward to welcoming the group home and giving them an opportunity to share their experiences.
“There is growing demand and support for CU Futures from ABCUL credit unions, and the Credit Union Foundation Trustees have pledged their ongoing support for the programme. One of the sector’s key challenges is nurturing and retaining young talent and equipping them with the relevant skills and knowledge to become the sector’s future leaders. We are delighted to be able to provide this contribution to that effort.”
