Cardiff & Vale Credit Union Re-Join ABCUL

The Association is delighted to welcome back, Cardiff and Vale Credit Union (CVCU) to its membership in the Cymru Forum. Based in Cardiff, the credit union has been operating for over 26 years and has over 10,000 members, with over £7.9m in savings and assets of over £9.5m.

The Association is delighted to welcome back, Cardiff and Vale Credit Union (CVCU) to its membership in the Cymru Forum. Based in Cardiff, the credit union has been operating for over 26 years and has over 10,000 members, with over £7.9m in savings and assets of over £9.5m.

CVCU were the first Wales-based financial services provider to be awarded 5-star accreditation with the Fairbanking Foundation for the ethical features of its personal loans and is a frequent winner of the Credit Unions of Wales Award.

Speaking on the credit union’s return to the Association, Chief Executive of CVCU, Caroline Richardson said: “A deciding factor for membership was based on the robust training, education and support, ABCUL has to offer.

“With new staff in place, ABCUL’s training platform has been vital to onboarding and continuity. Accessibility to the expertise and experience being a member brings affords us peace of mind and assurance.”

ABCUL, Chief Executive, Robert Kelly said: “I am delighted to welcome back Cardiff & Vale Credit Union into membership on behalf of the Association’s board, staff and our members across the country.

“We are looking forward to working with the Board and staff team at CVCU, making the most of their membership and participate in powerful co-operation through Britain’s largest credit union trade body. Our members in Wales, where there is strong collaboration in action, will no doubt be delighted to have their input through the ABCUL Cymru Forum as well.”
