This week, the CU Futures Class of 2023 continued their progression through the programme with a two-day event hosted in London.

Over the programme’s 12 months, the group will undertake a range of activities focused on their personal development as well as expanding their exposure to the wider sector and supporting them to think strategically about the future of credit unions in Britain.

The group undertook Presentation and Media Skills training, led by former Chair of the Credit Union Foundation and respected journalist Liz Barclay and completed their fourth module of the High-Performance Culture development from The Pacific Institute.

ABCUL’s Head of Advocacy and Projects, Debbie Smith-Hands travelled with the group and said: “It was a pleasure to join this year’s group as they continue their development and see their progression first-hand.

Debbie graduated from the programme in the inaugural year and credits the course for her progression in the movement. “This is a one-of-a-kind development opportunity for young professionals within our sector to further their skills and experience and progress to the next stage of their careers,” Debbie says: “I’d thank the enormous support from credit unions, the Credit Union Foundation receives each year for it to happen and we are delighted that the sector continues to support it.”
